I have a list of links that folks might find useful and/or interesting. I'll try to give a brief explanation of each.

The first link is maintained by the Polk County branch of the Iowa State Extension Service. It's about their Water$mart program and has a lot of other links and information besides. There is a quiz you can take. I highly recommend following the links for "Web Based Learning" and "Education Menu" and browsing the links these lead to.

The second link is the North American Lake Management Society home page. I'd recommend as part of browsing this site that you visit their education link and play "The Pond Game", which is a quiz game for identifying macroinvertebrates (for example, three drawings or pictures are shown with the question 'Which of these is a (insert macroinvertebrate type here)?').

The third link is to Alberta Riverwatch, a Canadian water quality monitoring program. Among browsing the rest of the site, I'd recommend following the link for "How to Monitor" and then check out the associated links from there.

The last link I'll post for now is the "Watershed Action" website maintained by the Center for Global Environmental Education. It's geared towards Minnesota, but it's got a lot of good information and projects that students or monitoring groups could do.

If you have any comment on any of these sites, or if you found them useful, let me know by posting a response. I have a few more links I could post if people are interested but don't have the time to put them up right now.

Steve
